TRAVEL Teams
and ALL-STAR Teams
A) AGS may sponsor GSA travel teams and town all-star teams.
B) All players must first register with AGS to be eligible. Players
interested in travel play will
declare their intention when
they register.
C) All players (through league age 15) in order to be eligible for town travel
teams and all-star teams will be required to register for AGS recreational
league. Exception: travel players on a high school team roster will have the
option of playing in the recreational league.
D) Candidates for travel team Manager positions (along with his/her selected
assistant coaches) must submit their request in writing (each year) to the
President for consideration and Board approval. The Board will then announce the
respective team Managers and his/her assistant coaches for each team.
E) Players selected will be placed on teams according to their league-age
appropriate divisions:
- All Star teams as per the respective All-Star tournament age divisions
- Travel teams as per the GSA age brackets for Division play:
9 - 10 year old Division
10 - 12 year old Division
13 - 15 year old Division
16 - 18 year old Division
Special notes
and rules:
- Player selection will be based on attendance at travel tryout session(s).
- Tryouts will not be necessary if there are no player cuts in order to achieve
a desired roster size.
- If there is more than one Audubon team in the same GSA age Division, player
selections and team placement will be based on competitive level. GSA will not
place two town teams that are in the same age bracket within the same playing
Division. One team will be placed at a higher competitive Division.
- A player may tryout for an upper-age division team (subject to GSA age
eligibility) if there is no corresponding travel team for her age-appropriate
level.
- Subject to certain GSA rules, a player may be ‘double-rostered' on two
different GSA Audubon travel teams but only if the teams are in different
age-bracket Divisions. However, the player's primary team will be her
age-appropriate team. Both team Managers, and respective player(s) will need to
agree to be ‘double-rostered’ in separate age-divisions.
- A player rostered on two (2) travel teams must play for the team in which her
age falls unless her primary team manager agrees she may play for the older team
on conflicting nights.
- Parent must provide parental consent (in writing) to AGS Board before a player
can play in an age division that is above her age-appropriate level.
